It’s 1945, and across the nation Americans are coming to terms with life after the war. For young Ken Frejlach (aka) Allie, that means adjusting to his family’s move from Chicago to run a ranch in Blue Diamond, a small operation outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Motivated by his mother’s worsening health and his father’s unrequited love for his wife, the family packs up and heads west in search of a new beginning—or at least a bit of relief from the mother’s arthritic condition. Told through the eyes of seven-year-old Ken (aka Allie), Take No Memories chronicles the Frejlach family’s attempts to move beyond their past to carve out a different life in America’s new frontier at the dawn of the nuclear age. With his family leaving behind all the comforts of electricity, telephone, and hot running water, Allie watches his parents struggle to keep the small ranch—and their marriage—afloat.

A story about growing up and coming to terms with the imperfections of parents and the hardships of life, Take No Memories is not only a compelling story about one man’s youth, but also a fascinating look at life in a dynamic place during one of the most significant periods in our country’s history.

The private names have been change but not those of public personalities or places.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good Reading By LAS Reviewer This wolf has some teeth…Red is weary of always being under her father’s shadow. No other man or wolf measures up and she sure isn’t going to date the man her father has entrusted his loyalty to. But Hank is kind of a jerk and no way is she going to even consider it. What’s a girl to do? So when she is waylaid in the forest by a sexy wolf with a whole lot of alpha going on, she lets him get past all of her …um…defenses.Max is an alpha male on hiatus from his own pack. The leader had some issues with his brand of strength. Not aware of another pack so close by, he is surprised by the sexy redheaded vixen that he happens upon in the woods. After he beds her, he finds out she is the pack alpha’s daughter. Not a good combination. Power, politics and a moral code made what happened between them not okay.Tensions ratchet up and Red has to decide what she wants and what she is willing to do to get it. Max will fight for the woman he wants to spend his life with, but will the two ever have that chance? This story had a lot going for it.The heroine had sass and wasn’t afraid to go after the man she wanted, despite having to buck the system. She is the wolf here, and not just a weak victim waiting to be taken advantage of. That was good. I always enjoy twists on a familiar fairy tale and this one lends itself to some steamy scenes in the great outdoors with the ever present threat of someone lurking just out of sight. Shivery and sexy all at the same time.It wasn’t all great, though. There were a few things that kept bothering me. There was no definite time period for starters. It seemed at first like a historical piece but as the story went longer, it had elements of the contemporary world. It read like a fairy tale, but Red’s attitude and hunger for Max made her at times not very likable. Her father was almost a paper tiger. Not much of a threat until you got to Hank, who was very much a bully. The wolf in the woods not knowing another wolf was there…no. They can scent things and they would be aware of a pack. That was a problem for me. A small detail, but an important one. Another question-if Red never got to her Grandmother’s house with that picnic basket, why didn’t she tear down the place calling the cops?An interesting read if you enjoy adult fairy tales and be prepared to use your imagination.originally posted at long and short reviews

About the Author (Madaura, actual Argelia, h. 125 - Cartago, hoy desaparecida, actual Túnez, h. 180) Escritor latino.

Son, Husband, Father, War Hero, President of the United States At 12:30 p.m. on November 22, 1963, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated. More than half a century has passed since that fateful moment, yet so many questions remain unanswered. Lone gunman? Conspiracy? And then there is that one big question: Does it still matter? Let’s say you are a talented movie director, and you announced you are making a movie about how the Holocaust wasn’t real, or the Civil Rights movement never happened. There would be demonstrators in front of your studio protesting your movie because it is an abomination of history. When Oliver Stone made JFK, there weren’t any such protests. There were some columnists who wrote that they thought it was bad history, but there was no public outcry. That’s because the Kennedy assassination has passed from history into entertainment. It’s like a board game, ‘Who killed Kennedy?’ That’s unfortunate. Through a series of interviews with key experts and researchers in the Kennedy assassination field, author Jacob Carter offers readers the unique opportunity to take a fresh look at one of the most pivotal moments in American history. Interviews included: Jefferson Morley David Talbot Dan Hardway David Scheim Dr. Robert McClelland Anthony Summers Gus Russo Dale Myers Max Holland Gerald Posner John McAdams Judge John R. Tunheim Bonus: First time ever published letter of Antonio Veciana admitting he saw Lee Harvey Oswald with his CIA handler in Dallas only months before President Kennedy's assassination. By Okie Wobbly Even though I 'm not the demographic Mr. Carter is aiming for exactly (I'm 76+) and I guess I belong to the "conspiracy camp", I must say this is a very heartfelt, balanced;, informative collection of interviews and short essays collected by the author which present all sides of the controversy without judgments. Several of the "lone nut" writers seem clearly relieved and grateful to be given the time and space to expound without criticism from the author who pretty clearly doesn't agree. This is an original contribution to the growing body of JFK assassination literature, meant to stoke the interest of millennials and younger folks in general in history and its relevance to our times. Hopeful, patriotic, passionate but not naive. Good tonic for all ages. Just get involved and make up your own mind, Jacob pleades..

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Jake Carter -- Wonderful Book/Great Gift for the Assassination Curious By johnny freeborn A rarity among JFK books. In a word, balanced. Although Jake Carter comes from the conspiracy camp, he sets that aside as he brings in some noted researchers from both sides of the aisle to discuss an aspect of the case. The questions are straight forward and allow each of the interviewed subjects a chance to provide their insights. It is a very good primer for one who is attempting to get both sides of the story and would be a useful addition to any class attempting to discuss the topic of the JFK Assassination. Only one critique, it should have been longer.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Great overview of Lone Assassin vs. Conspiracy By Gerald Posner In Before History Dies, Jacob Carter has managed to do something quite rare: write a fresh book about the JFK assassination, a book that he correctly describes as a “research tool for people who want to study history on their own terms.” Mr. Carter is not trying to solve the case. Instead, he splits the book evenly between 12 leading researchers/authors, half setting forth the case for a conspiracy and the other half contending it was only a single assassin. I am one of those included in under Mr. Carter’s “The Lone Assassin Theory.” I can attest to the accuracy of the interview he includes in Before History Dies. Mr. Carter allows each of his interviewees to talk at length, without editing the responses to favor one or another view of history. His balanced and even-handed approach is one of his greatest strengths. Before History Dies is targeted towards a younger audience, one that has no living memory of JFK’s assassination. But I think this fine book should find a wider audience, not only with those interested in the murder of Jack Kennedy, but even with journalism students and historians who want to observe how it is possible for 12 smart researchers to study a subject in depth and to split into diametrically different camps about what took place on November 22, 1963. That is the challenge, always, as with every controversial area of history. And it is illustrated very capably in Before History Dies.

Once again Pilcher captures essence of the human race By rebelmomof2 Between love and passion, feuding families, mother and son, and all other possible relationships involved in a small village ~~ Pilcher covers the range of human lives. This book is so wonderfully refreshing compared to a lot of novels today. It's a sequel of a sorts to "The Shell Seekers," but the characters are different people than the ones that occupys "The Shell Seekers." Only Noel is presented in this book and it's such a nice change to see him growing up into a real man throughout this book. If anyone can prove that they can redeem themselves, Noel is the best example of that!Be sure to read this book right after you've finished "The Shell Seekers." That way, Noel and his tendencies are still fresh in your mind and you can see Pilcher at work intertwining lives of people in both books.Pilcher is an author I highly recommend to everyone to read. She's a clean writer, refreshingly so! Her descriptions of every day life in Scotland and England are vivid ~~ where you can see the loch in its glory on a fall day, smell the tea, see the rainy mists just outside the windows. She takes you with her on her journeys. And it lingers long after the last page.

"September" Tops My List of Favorite Family Sagas By Antoinette Klein I'm an avid reader and this is, without a doubt, my favorite book of all time by my favorite author of all time.At the heart of "September" is Noel Keeling, a man sorely self-absorbed and with a life in disarray after a bitter fight with his mother and her subsequent death in "The Shell Seekers." Noel is drawn into the life of London caterer Alexa Aird, whose family and their good friends, the Balmerinos, are the pivotal families in this rich tale of love, betrayal, loss, despair, and redemption on the moors of Scotland. You will meet Violet Aird, the aging matriarch rich in compassion yet fretful as she watches her son Edmund and his second wife Virginia grow apart over a disagreement concerning their son. When a former lover reenters Virginia's life, their son Henry disappears from boarding school, and a pathetic madwoman begins to dredge up the past, there is plenty to worry about. Add to the mix their good friends Archie and Isobel Balmerino, the lord and lady rich in titles but so short on cash they must open their family home to visiting American tourists. Their daughter Lucilla, a free-spirit who has been traveling through Europe with her Austrailian boyfriend, returns home with a most surprising guest in tow---Archie's sister Pandora who left twenty years ago over whispered-about circumstances and whose return changes lives forever. This is another trip into the world of Rosamunde Pilcher, one rich in family ties, unsurpassed local color of her beloved Scotland, and characters that will long be in your memory. If you're looking for an engrossing book to curl up with, one you will be hard-put to set aside, this is the book for you.

32 of 34 people found the following review helpful. Beautiful, engaging and deeply moving. . . By A Customer Pilcher does a masterful job at extending several key characters from "The Shell Seekers" into this lovely book. While each story can stand alone, start with "The Shell Seekers" and move onto this. The character of Noel is one I find so interesting and believeable- rather callous and self-absorbed in "The Shell Seekers" and then growing and learning to understand and appreciate the world his mother created for him in "September". Noel has a love interest in this book that starts in a most unlikely manner, but is richly satisfying as the book goes on. I won't give away the story, but even though the book is richly populated with Pilcher's usual lovable if eccentric folk, the emotional journey of Noel Keeling is at the heart of "September".An unlikely hero, the changes we see in Noel gives us hope for ourselves and those we care about deeply.

College Football Etiquette: A Primer for True Fans of the Game, by Jerri A. Blair

From the Author This book is very different from any other book I've written. It's a nonfiction look at the wonderful traditions of college football and the impact it has on the lives of its many fans. I wrote this book because I've been concerned about some of the things I've observed in the last few years since college football began receiving such extensive media coverage. The fan base is growing rapidly, but the age-old traditions that give it such richness can't be handed down the way they used to be. I wrote of how I became a college football fan and then provided a list of guidelines that will help fans to have the best possible game day experiences. I added a peek at the rich traditions from all of the schools that play in the Power Five Conferences that compete for the FBS National Championship. I hope everyone who reads this book will take away a better appreciation for the greatest game around.

About the Author Jerri Blair's referee dad played football for the Florida Gators long before she was born, but infused her childhood with love of the game and all of its hoary traditions. She graduated from the University of Florida Law School an avid true blue Gator loving SEC fan, and practiced trial law for thirty years while continuing her path of fandom.

And in my opinion some excellent advice to help keep it the sport it is. The fan pages that talk about the traditions each school has is really cool. I have watched football all my life, it was fun learning what other schools do to get ready. It made me feel like some of the stuff my buddies and I do is not as far out as I though. Everyone will love this book.

By Susan Blair Nielsen A fun book filled with great stories about all the traditions of the various conference teams. The etiquette primer has lots of common sense ideas to make rooting for your team fun without being hurtful to others. Following Jerri's journey as a Gator fan is interesting & sometimes heartfelt. This book would be a great gift for anyone who loves college football!

You never learn her name. The little girl's parents die and she runs into the mysterious woods where a doll maker lives. He promises to give her her parents back if she collects skulls. Thus begins her journey, and the villainous Violinist and his many crows try to stop her. A great read, it reminded me of Tim Burton and Neil Gaiman. Recommended!I was given a free copy for an honest review.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. a dark & gripping tale By AO "Collecting seems to bring out that primitive instinct for the hunt in some of its devotees, who stalk their prey with skill." - Alicia Craig Faxona little girl is overwrought with grief and despair over the disappearance of her parents. alone, miserable and lost, she finds herself sold to the Doll-Maker who promises to reunite her with her loved ones in exchange for collecting skulls.this was such a dark and gripping tale of innocence lost, exploitation and betrayal. the creepy setting, the macabre task the little girl had to go through each night, the mysterious Violinist and his murder of crows plus the Doll-Maker's bizarre doll-making methods only added to the strangeness of it all. yet it had its morbid appeal - albeit unconventional for the most part.i found myself emotionally drawn to the poor little girl's plight, sympathizing with her ordeal and wishing i could wrap my arms around her to shield her from all the abuse the Doll-Maker inflicted on her. alas, i could only read on and wished for everything to end well for her.although i found the ending a bit predictable, it was also a relief to note that our little girl's trauma and agony were finally over and the greedy, abusive Doll-Maker deserved what he got.i have a few niggles though. sometimes i found the abuses too much and kept wondering how the little girl's frail body could have survived them all. the Violinist's behavior in the last few pages were quite confusing and i found his motive for doing what he did questionable. in other words, i was left to ponder on some details and was contemplating if they were truly resolved or not. maybe, it was the author's intention to leave things as they were and allow the reader to form his own conclusions.despite these, i was fascinated by the whole story. maybe if i read it again, i would find details that i might have missed or i might be able to discern some answers that were there all along but were merely hiding in the shadows.*received a copy for review

Fans of "The Graveyard book" and Lemony Snicket will love this By Jeanette Andromeda The most enjoyable aspect of this book is the world building. The world where this sad little orphan girl exists is a dark and mysterious one. Forests of bizarre creatures and giant mushrooms, magic beings who endlessly search for skulls, and an ever-present gloom of despair. It’s a world that has a rich history and the story explores that history just enough to makes you understand how this melancholy existence came to be.The gloom is broken through with moments of beauty and determination in how the little orphan girl struggles to bring hope into her situation. She finds these glimmering moments to cling to even a friend in the unlikeliest of places. Her story was as tragic and sweet as you would find in Oliver Twist, with the macabre imagery and well-utilized fantasy violence you would find in a film like Coraline or James and the Giant Peach. This book was a delightfully dark and macabre treat to read. So if you enjoy books, like The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman or A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket then you’re going to love this book.

By Christine Tippetts This is really Chris Tippetts, not Brian - for some reason it wouldn't let me change the name - sorry Brian!:) I give this book a 5 Star because it's well written, it's funny (it's actually hilarious!!), it's encouraging and mostly because my cousin, Mary Burch, along with her niece, Jessie Burch, wrote and illustrated it! They have done a fabulous job giving tribute to their Mother/Grandmother who was truly an amazing woman - well done! This may be your first book, but hopefully not your last...

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A FAMOUS 19TH CENTURY "CONFESSION" OF A FRAUDULENT MEDIUM By Steven H Propp Harry Price (1881-1948) was a British psychic researcher and author, who wrote other books such as Fifty Years of Psychical Research, The Most Haunted House in England: Ten Years' Investigation of Borley Rectory (Collector's Library of the Unknown), The End Of Borley Rectory, etc. Eric John Dingwall (1890-1986) was an anthropologist and one of the most experienced psychical investigators of modern times. This book was first published anonymously in 1891, then reprinted in 1922. Price/Dingwall note in their Preface to the 1922 edition, "The stir in the spiritualistic which accompanied the publication of this book will be easily understood ... In 1891, when it was first published, fraudulent mediumship had attained such a vogue which it would be difficult to over-estimate. The class of so-called physical phenomena of which the book treats has always been more popular amongst public mediums in the United States than in this country... The present great increase of interest in psychic phenomena will probably result in the production of spurious physical phenomena by the less honest mediums, and it is with this thought that we have decided to reptint [the book]... In conclusion we would remind the reader that no mere knowledge of magical secrets will ever guarantee him from being deceived by fraudulent mediums."The author states, "Nearly all 'mediums' are, in reality, Materialists, Atheists or Agnostics. The writer was a Materialist of the most pronounced type. He did not BELIEVE anything... hence there was no excuse to take ANYTHING on faith..." (Pg. 7-8) He admits, "in some cases he was not very proud of the quality of the inspiration he had developed. He was proud of no part of it, save the financial consideration which reposed in his wallet." (Pg. 95)He recalls, "Oh, for some ABSOLUTE proof of a future existence, if there is one. The writer has furnished positive proof of life everlasting to scores of skeptical minds that the church did not reach. It was very satisfactory proof to them but the writer knew just how much it was worth, and for his own satisfaction if did not fill the bill." (Pg. 151)He confides, "There are many plans that will bring money, or perhaps the 'sucker' (they are called 'suckers' by the 'mediums') will have some particular 'hobby' regarding Spiritualism that will suggest a scheme. Those plans based on some idea held by your victim are always the best and easiest..." (Pg. 260)After recounting a typical séance, he observes, "None of your bungling, amateur work here. The work of such a 'medium' is always satisfactory for the reason that if a man feels SURE that the 'medium' is a fraud, he has been so well entertained that he does not regret the money paid for the opportunity to witness it." (Pg. 286)This book will be of considerable interest to anyone studying the history of Spiritualism."

Alexander Hardison This is a wonderful book.I first became aware of it when I read of Dr. Richard Hodgson's appraisal of the book. Though the author remains a bit of a mystery, the introduction by Price and Dingwall is insightful. Many, many classical séance tricks are exposed in this book, ranging from slate writing tricks to billet reading and "table levitations". My only problem with this book (though it may only be an issue with this edition; I'm unsure) is that it was not organized well and, if it hadn't been such easy reading, I would have found it a chore to get through. There are really no chapter organizations, etc, though there are some nice illustrations in the book.My favorite part was at the end where the author encouraged readers not to abandon Spiritualism entirely -rather investigate it and separate the "wheat from the chaff". If something is fraudulent, then there is usually something legitimate that it is based on. Whatever that may be, the author leaves for the investigator's discovery. A nice bit of advice is given at the end: chiefly, don't let other people think for you.All in all, I recommend it.

By Deb E I bought this book after finding it mentioned in other literature I'd been reading; I found it quite entertaining and very informative; I understand why Spiritualists bought up and burned as many copies of this book as they could find when it was first published. While many of the deceptions and tricks outlined in its pages are no longer valid (but, oh, are they clever!), the observations about human nature are. Amazing that some things never change.

Review

“Showcasing the rise of a generation of cycling superstars, Shoulder to Shoulder explores the peak years of Jacques Anquetil’s career with a restored collection of rare photographs.” ― VeloNews magazine

“The Horton Collection’s lastest masterpiece… is no chronological time lapse of Anquetil’s career and adversaries. The array of photos is more musical, more sweeping. And more shocking… There are moments displayed for which many of us would give an organ to have witnessed first-hand.” ― Red Kite Prayer

"Beautifully reproduced images. The photos are wonderfully atmospheric. Enchanting. There are plenty of action shots, again with excellent detail and beautiful composition. An excellent addition what what seems to have become a Horton Collection series." - Pezcyclingnews.com

“I have spent several hours in deep reverie, slowly turning the pages of Shoulder to Shoulder…Such a compact, bijou, and ultimately desirable book…Brilliant.” – The Washing Machine Post

"Stunning photography from the era." – Canadian Cycling magazine

"With a copy of Shoulder to Shoulder in your lap it's almost like you've been invited to The Horton Collection to see their photos without ever leaving your comfy couch and your Campari & soda." – CycleItalia

“Shoulder to Shoulder is a coffee table book around which groups (or bunches) of cycling enthusiasts will gather to drool over black and white photos from the glory days of competitive racing.” ― Bicycles.net

“These glimpses of cycling in the sixties are welcome, as are the images of the punishing circuits, the mercurial weather, and the crashes that came about as a result of both. But the focus of Shoulder to Shoulder is Anquetil… It all looks impossibly romantic and dashing, which, not coincidentally, was exactly the impression the world was given of Jacques Anquetil.” ― Boing Boing

“The wonderful black and white images capture many action-packed race scenes, scenes of suffering, and scenes of celebration. There are lots of bloodied faces and riders slogging over mountain passes completely awash in mud and slush. There are also many candid moments, some of which are downright whimsical… Shoulder to Shoulder is a beautiful collection that any serious cycling fan should check out. Brett and Shelly Horton should really be thanked for preserving so many rare and iconic images and artifacts from cycling's past, and putting them so lovingly into the hands of bicycle racing fans across multiple generations.” ― Retrogrouch

Sit back and enjoy By Larry TheobaldCycleItalia Imagine for a moment that you had a friend, a guy really into cycling, especially the "Golden Age of Cycling" that we hear so much about. This guy, Brett, invites you over to his house to look at some photos he has. These are not just any photos and Brett's not just any cycling fan. This is a guy who has begged, borrowed or stolen(?) all kinds of cycling memorabilia and he wants to share it with you. With a copy of Shoulder to Shoulder in your lap it's almost like you've been invited to his house to see his photos without ever leaving your comfy couch and your Campari & soda. 106 pages of black & white photos of the greats of cycling are yours to enjoy. Most of these rare photos capture the raw, youthful humanity of these legends of cycling, something that's often lost these days. My only complaint is the notes in the back about each photo. It would be fine if Brett were there with you, sharing a Campari & soda while describing each one, but instead you have to flip back and forth from photo to detailed note/caption. In the 1970s and early ‘80s, southern California was shocked when dead boys began turning up with disturbing regularity alongside some of the picturesque state’s most heavily traveled freeways. Victims of sadistic torture, the dead boys and young men had been raped and strangled, and their untimely deaths were eventually attributed to the Freeway Killer, an elusive psychopath whose trail of death would go down in California history as one of the worst true crime stories in the country. While the Freeway Killer ultimately turned out to be three different men, one of them was truck driver William Bonin, one of the most prolific and sadistic among American serial killers. Bonin usually preferred to work with an accomplice, and the lust killer and his cronies brutally raped and tortured his victims – Bonin loved the sounds of their screams – before strangling them and dumping them on the side of the road like garbage. Bonin confessed to committing 21 murders in the span of just a year, although many experts believe he was responsible for the deaths of many more missing young men. He was executed in 1996, and in this detailed serial killer biography, you’ll learn the background that might offer some understanding of what makes a man go off the rails and become a deranged lust killer. Of course, spine-tingling story of a man whose youngest victim was a 12-year-old who was waiting for a bus to take him to Disneyland might be one that causes you to sleep with the lights on for weeks after turning the final gruesome page.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Oh My Goodness and Hold on to your Hats! This is one story that will fill your mind with dread and haunt your dreams. Yeah Baby! By Rich "William Bonin: The True Story of The Freeway Killer," by Jack Rosewood is a brilliantly presented exposè on the life and times of one of this country's most diabolical and prolific killers. Not unlike Ted Bundy, Gary Ridgway (the Green River Killer), Dennis Rader (the BTK Killer—bind them, torture them, kill them), John Wayne Gacy (the Clown Killer), or more distantly William Bonnie (Billy the Kid), and William F. Harden who killed a man for snoring, this demon incarnate systematically sought out, sodomized, tortured, killed and then disposed of his twenty-one male victims as naturally as taking out a stick of gum. What Mr. Rosewood has done is gone a step further by delving into the inner workings of the serial killer's mind and upbringing—100% of serial killers were either abused, neglected or abandoned, and many do not operate alone. Where does this insatiable need to kill come from? What is their temperament like? Their sexual proclivities? What makes these deadly miscreants so similar and at times appear almost normal? Mr. Jack Rosewood takes into account all of this and more. Just like the men of which he writes, Mr. R takes and deftly spins his literary web trapping his readers no less effectively than the van used by William Bonin. I will have to read the rest of his series—even if only half as good. Well done Mister!

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Gory, nasty, ugly, evil criminal conduct--that is what is detailed in this book, then the trial, and punishment of a monster. By Berk Rourke This is a true crime book. It details the horrendous "career" of William Bonin and friends as serial killers. He was called The Freeway Killer among other epithets used by various people. Bonin was truly a monster, an evil man, and that comes home very clearly in the eerie, repetitive telling of the tales of each of his 21 killings (maybe more). This is not a novel, not a story to be taken lightly by the reader. It contains details of the crimes, how they were committed and what the results were of the conduct of Bonin and his accomplices. The stories are grim. They are deeply disturbing to any human being and certainly were to me. I have been a prosecutor of serious criminal cases and have tried murder cases. This one would have been easy to try but horrendous to present in its details to the jury. This is a well written book with an easy to follow style and flow. I would not say it is easy to read. To the contrary. But it is not the style, the flow or the writer's abilities that makes the book difficult, it is the story itself. I give the book five stars as a true crime book. I think the manner in which the story was told was very well devised by the writer. For you grammar Nazis there are a few mistakes of editing but nothing that detracts from the story itself. In sum though I found the reading of the story difficult I did enjoy the book and recommend it to anyone above the age of say eighteen. And I think the advice given to hitchhikers is very well taken.

The Freeway Killer, William Bonin By GA buyer A really shocking book on William Bonin, one of the so-called "Freeway Killer"s that roamed the highways in California, killing young men and boys.. He's surely one of the more prolific ones of that time, confessing to killing at least 21 victims, and it may be even more. He's also one of the guys who killed with different partners at times. Really twisted and creepy.,
